Body-mind-world is effect: thoughts, feelings, perceptions; they constantly come and go.
"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God.
I am the LORD your God."
Numbers 15:41
God = Reality, the cause of the phenomena of life, not the Santa Claus of our faulty thinking.
Egypt = the slavery of our personal, separate "me" identity.
... Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12
How to follow... physically, mentally, emotionally?
Who is this "me" to follow?
"But what about you?" he asked.
Who do you say I am?"
Mark 8:29
In other words:
ask yourself: am I flesh or Spirit?
flesh = effect = the appearance of space and time
Spirit = cause = Awareness/Consciousness
"this world" is what i think and feel to be real.
Our fulfillment is in contemplating the nature of reality, the nature of our own mind.
If we want to embrace the gift of life we can examine the difference between the "me" that we assume in our old thinking mind, and the Presence of "I am" which is here and now, fresh and open.
What is my internal BS-meter...
how do I know that I don't need to seek/wait anymore?
What do I really want?
Suggested answer:
What we all long for, if we know it or not, is
"Happiness through peace of mind in daily living, independent of circumstances."
This "peace" is not a pleasure, it is not a certain feeling, state or condition.
This peace is...
... the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints.
27To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Again... not a Santa Claus God, not a belief, not a hope, not a mental image (idol).
Simple, natural, effortless.
Enjoy and share the gift of Life.
... love,
not as a duty or future goal, but the simple bravery and openness to hold onto nothing,
to allow and contemplate what really IS here and now; not what we assume to be.
"neighbor" in Bible lingo refers to any object "I am" aware of...
